What to Expect

Our practice is committed to providing you and your family with safe, gentle, high quality dental care. We understand that you, or your child, may feel anxious about visiting the dentist. We are sensitive to your needs, and it is our goal to make you feel comfortable visiting our practice while providing you with the best care possible.

Your first visit is all about you – your comfort, your happiness, and your health.

We want every dental visit to be a great experience, starting with your first one. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment and plan to spend between 60 and 90 minutes in our office. You will receive a comprehensive oral examination and the necessary X-rays to help your dentist and dental hygienist assess your oral health. Your dentist and dental hygienist will look for signs of:

  • tooth decay
  • bone loss
  • oral cancer
  • periodontal (gum) disease

X-rays

Depending on your age, risks of disease and symptoms, your dentist may recommend X-rays. X-rays can diagnose problems otherwise unnoticed, such as damage to jawbones, impacted teeth, bone loss, abscesses, cysts or tumors, and decay between the teeth. Digital X-ray equipment allows us to acquire the needed X-rays with 90% less radiation than traditional equipment used by most other offices. Each room offers the capability to view the X-rays on a flat panel video monitor, and allows you to have an active role in the decisions pertaining to your oral health.

Oral Cancer Screening

An oral cancer screening exam is an important part of the comprehensive oral evaluation. You can expect an examination of your head and neck area, and the soft tissues of the mouth including the tongue, inside of the lips and cheeks, and the floor and roof of mouth.

Your Treatment Plan

Your dentist will customize a personal treatment plan for you based on the clinical findings of your initial examination. It will specify the type of cleaning and additional visits you need and include recommendations for home care products. Your dental team will review your treatment plan options and begin treatment after obtaining your consent.

Bring your smile, but also remember to bring these with you to your first appointment:

  • dental insurance card, if applicable
  • photo ID card
  • completed new patient forms

New Patient Forms

We will need information about you to get started. Please download and complete the three forms below and bring them to your first visit. If you are not able to complete these forms prior to your first visit, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment.

Cancellation Policy

We set aside dedicated time in our office for your dental appointment. If you find it necessary to cancel, please provide a 24-hour advance notice. Without proper notice, you may be charged a $25 fee which is subject to change without notice.

Regular checkups are an important part of maintaining a healthy smile!

The American Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist every six months for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
