Brian Mitchell, DDS
General and Cosmetic Dentist, Preferred Provider of Invisalign® and Invisalign Teen®
I believe in treating each patient the same way that I'd treat my own family. I always take a down-to-earth approach to delivering care: taking pictures so that patients can see their own teeth and smiles, trying to explain the complexities of dental science to patients in terms they can understand, and being honest about all possible options. I want people to actually like coming to the dentist! I love the mix of art and science in dentistry, but I am most passionate about being able to help others in a meaningful way.
Education and Continuing Education
- Bachelor of Architecture – University of Notre Dame
- Doctor of Dental Surgery – The Ohio State University
I enjoy learning new things and watching as the profession of dentistry evolves with new techniques and products. I participate in numerous forms of continuing education in all aspects of dentistry, including Invisalign®, endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, sleep apnea, and pharmacology. I am active in sports dentistry by fabricating mouthguards for local high school and youth football teams, and as a practice, we founded the Southwest Dental Hygiene Study Club two years ago.
The team here at GCFD truly cares about our patients. They are talented, hardworking, dedicated, and conscientious. I love that they remember the little things, from wishing our patients a happy birthday and sending thank you cards to calling to check up after long or difficult appointments. Those are the things that separate our office from all the others out there. My team always makes our patients smile and that makes me smile!
Outside the Office
My wife, Kelly, and I will celebrate our 15 year anniversary this December, and we have three amazing daughters: Claire, Molly, and Bridget. Growing up, I was the oldest of four boys, and I'm still really close to all of my brothers. Kelly’s brother also lives next door to us with his wife and children. Obviously, our extended families are really close to us and are an important part of who we are. We also have two cats, Lenny and Squiggy.
Besides spending time with my family, I enjoy coaching a lot of the teams my kids play on, whether it's soccer, basketball, or softball, and I still play both softball and soccer when I can. I attend more than my fair share of collegiate and professional sporting events, usually Notre Dame or Ohio State games, and my favorite baseball team is the Detroit Tigers. I enjoy traveling to new places, camping, hiking, exploring, and generally being outdoors. I love cooking with my wife but enjoy eating more; I consider myself an ice cream connoisseur. A few things that I really enjoy but don’t get to do all that often: golfing, skiing, watercoloring, seeing live music, and fishing.
In the Community
I've been blessed to have been given a lot in my life and I believe strongly in trying to give back. I participate in the Dental OPTIONS program, an outreach dedicated to assisting Ohio communities with special health needs or financial barriers to obtain needed dental care. I also have begun volunteering with the KidSMILES clinic and have helped to do screenings for the Special Olympics. I served on the board of directors for the Grove City Area Chamber of Commerce for five years and still help with projects when I can. My wife and I are active in our church, St. Agatha, and we’ve chaired the Float Building Committee for the Upper Arlington Fourth of July Parade for the last six years. I love volunteering in our kids’ classrooms and have helped in years past by judging the science fair.
